Jan Vanderlinden, L.Ac. has been practicing Chinese Medicine since 1999. She incorporates acupuncture, tui na (Chinese bodywork), craniosacral therapy and Chinese herbs in her practice. In addition to completing graduate studies in acupuncture at Tri-State College of Acupuncture, she had an extensive apprenticeship in acupuncture, qi gong and tui na with Tom Bisio, L.Ac. in New York City. Her understanding of Chinese medicine is rooted in her 20 year practice of the Chinese martial arts of Tai Chi Chuan, Xing Yi Quan, Ba Gua Zhang and Qi Gong studying with many teachers in the United States and China. This foundation gives Jan a deep understanding of the principles of Chinese medicine. She is an active member of the acupuncture community and a Board member of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado. Jan is licensed in the State of Colorado and is board certified in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
In 2004 Jan returned to Boulder after living in Brooklyn, New York for 18 years. In New York, she fell in love with the people, and the arts - both the fine arts and martial arts. She studied painting in New York (she earned her M.F.A in painting from Hunter College in 1990), along with martial arts. Like these arts, Chinese medicine is beautiful. She returned to Colorado in 2004 to be close to family and the mountains.
